DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Due to the
relocation of US 20 Hamilton County, the official description of this route
should be revised to reflect the new alignment. The last portion of US 20 to be
completed in Hamilton County extends eastward from the Interstate 35
interchange to the Hardin County line and was opened to traffic on October 7,
1991.

jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑20‑0 (26), between the City of
Webster City and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that
portion of US 20 from the west corporation line of the City of Webster City
easterly to its east corporation line (2nd Street) to city jurisdiction by
December 1, 1980.
Transfer of
jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑17‑3 (27)‑‑2M‑40,
between Hamilton County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred
county road R-21 from approximately 100 feet south of the center of Section 8‑T88N‑R26W
north to a point approximately 150 feet north of the N ¼ Corner Section 5‑T88N‑R26W
to state jurisdiction on July‑23, 1980.
This section is now designated as US 20.
Transfer of

between Hamilton County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred

Hamilton‑Hardin County line approximately 3 ½ miles northeast of
Williams, Iowa.
